Orthodontics/Invisalign In Orangeburg, NY
Orthodontics is known for solving bite irregularities and straightening teeth. But it’s also a way that dentists prevent and treat issues of the jaw and face. Orthodontists are dentists who complete additional training after graduating from dental school.
Dr. Guller is also an orthodontist who can provide a wide array of orthodontic services, from Invisalign to braces. As improvements in dentistry have led to fewer cavities and improved technology that makes restorations look as good as your normal teeth, people are putting more of an emphasis on the brilliance of their smiles.
If you’re looking for straighter teeth or a more comfortable bite that causes less jaw pain or stress on your jaw, talk to our dentistry team. We can give you the smile of your dreams while helping you feel your best.

Invisalign
The look of braces on a patient's teeth can be the reason why they don't pursue a straighter smile. They don't want to live with the metalwork in their mouth, even for a few months. Adults are especially self-conscious of having this device in their mouth, worrying about impacts on their careers and social life.
That’s why we’re proud to offer Invisalign® in our office. This allows us to align teeth fast with no metal in your mouth. Instead, it uses custom trays that your dentist will advise you to change out every few weeks. Each time you change them, the aligners will be slightly different to conform to your new teeth and continue to move them into the alignment we've designed.
Invisalign® trays are temporary, meaning you can remove them when you want, such as for special events. You’ll be in full control of how long your teeth straightening treatment takes. Many people find great satisfaction with this form of orthodontia and experience outstanding results.
What Can Invisalign® Correct?
Invisalign® can treat the same issues as braces can, just with greater flexibility and convenience. Alignment trays are invisible to most people, and you can feel free to remove them when you like.
This invisible treatment method can treat the following dental problems.
- Overcrowding: when there isn’t enough space in the mouth for all a patient’s teeth, it can lead to overlapping or crooked teeth. Outside of the cosmetic concerns related to overcrowding, teeth with no space between them are more likely to experience decay and are targets for gum disease.
- Gaps between teeth: the total opposite of overcrowding is when there are large gaps between teeth. This might be because of teeth a patient has lost or due to jaw growth abnormalities. Invisalign® can close these gaps to create a beautiful, more comfortable smile.
- Crossbite: when several of your upper teeth sit inside of your lower teeth when you bite down, this is called a crossbite. It can cause uneven wear on your teeth, which can lead to bone loss and gum disease.
- Overbite: when your upper teeth sit further out than your lower teeth or cover them completely, you suffer from an overbite. Overbites can lead to jaw pain and even TMJ.
- Underbite: the opposite of an overbite is an underbite. In this case, the lower teeth stick out further than the upper teeth or cover them. Just like an overbite, an underbite can lead to jaw pain and TMJ.
What Are the Advantages of Invisalign® Compared to Traditional Braces?
As you evaluate what treatment option is best for you when looking to improve your smile, you’ll need to weigh several pros and cons. You can get nearly identical results from both Invisalign® and traditional braces.
Invisalign® provides a clear treatment option to solve many cosmetic and functional dental problems. But, to use this treatment option, patients must be disciplined and committed to working toward straighter, healthier teeth. Because the trays are removable, you’ll need to brush your teeth after eating or drinking and be diligent about wearing the trays if you want to see results quickly.
If you’re evaluating whether to get veneers or Invisalign® to straighten your teeth, it depends on the severity of your dental issues. While veneers can close gaps in your teeth and provide a straighter looking smile, they do not fix overcrowding, crossbites, overbites or underbites. If left untreated, these conditions could lead to further dental problems, as detailed above. Veneers are also not permanent, which means they’ll need changed at least every 20 years.
What’s the Process for Getting Invisalign® Treatment?
The first step in beginning an Invisalign® treatment process is to meet with your dentist. Your dentist will review your current teeth alignment and create a plan for your treatment. The dentist will take 3D images of your jaw to get a full look at everything and create a detailed treatment plan.
After completing your treatment plan, your dentist will send it to Invisalign® to have your custom trays made. Depending on the severity of your dental issues, you might have anywhere from 20-30 alignment trays for both your upper and lower teeth.
Will My Lifestyle Need to Change During Invisalign® Treatment?
Starting Invisalign® treatment will take some getting used to. You’ll need to remember to remove your trays when eating or drinking anything besides water. If you eat and drink with your trays on, you could end up with food debris stuck between your teeth, which could make the perfect conditions for tooth decay to form.
You should promptly brush your teeth after eating and drinking and begin wearing your trays again. Consult your dentist on how long to wear a set of Invisalign® trays. Generally, you’ll change them every two weeks to continue progress toward a straighter smile.
Invisalign® has revolutionized orthodontics and made it more attainable for people to achieve the smile they’ve always dreamed of. If you live in Orangeburg, NY Request An Appointment today to start your Invisalign® treatment.

"A little over three years ago, my older daughter Carolyn, had a bicycle accident. One of her permanent front teeth was actually knocked out. We called the office and they told us to come in immediately. It was about 6 p.m. Everyone was concerned and helpful. Dr.Guller reinserted her tooth. Needless to say, we were very frequent visitors to this office. Everyone knew us and always asked how Carolyn was doing. With everyone’s long-term help, Carolyn’s teeth look great!
Our entire family comes to Pascack Dental Arts. It’s a great place for complete dental care."
