Teeth Whitening
Over time, dark-colored foods and drinks cause your smile to lose its brilliant white. Using tooth whitening, we can restore the beauty of your smile using a non-invasive treatment.
Your smile is probably one of the most important factors in making a good first impression. Patients often list having whiter teeth as one of their top priorities when it comes to their dental care. At-home whitening kits are a popular way to improve your smile and can have impressive results. Our team can work with you to choose whether in-office or at-home treatments are best for you.
As part of your whitening considerations, you might want to evaluate having fillings and crowns replaced to match your whiter smile. Whitening treatments only work on your natural tooth enamel and will not impact the color of your dental restorations.
Whether you choose to do at-home or in-office whitening, know that it is not permanent. You might want to consider doing regular touch-up treatments to keep your smile looking great.
Reasons to Get Tooth Whitening Treatments
Patients whose smile has suffered as a result of the following dental conditions can benefit greatly from tooth whitening treatments.
- Fluorosis spots and discoloration from excessive fluoride exposure during development
- Regular wear to the tooth’s enamel
- Discoloration of the teeth due to medications (e.g., doxycycline)
- Teeth stained yellow or brown from foods, drinks or smoking
Process for Tooth Whitening
We know many patients don’t have time to visit our office for regular tooth whitening. Instead, at-home treatments are much better for your busy schedule. Preparing your at-home treatment requires two visits to our office.
During the first visit, we'll take impressions to create the whitening trays. We'll call you to let you know when your custom trays arrive. At your second visit, we'll make sure your trays fit well and make adjustments as needed. Our team will provide you with some specialty whitening solution that you can use once or twice a day for 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can wear the trays overnight for ease of use.
You might experience some sensitivity during your two-week whitening treatment. After you complete the treatment, this sensitivity will diminish. The final part of your tooth whitening appointment will be our team explaining how to care for your trays and keep your smile looking white long-term.

"A little over three years ago, my older daughter Carolyn, had a bicycle accident. One of her permanent front teeth was actually knocked out. We called the office and they told us to come in immediately. It was about 6 p.m. Everyone was concerned and helpful. Dr.Guller reinserted her tooth. Needless to say, we were very frequent visitors to this office. Everyone knew us and always asked how Carolyn was doing. With everyone’s long-term help, Carolyn’s teeth look great!
Our entire family comes to Pascack Dental Arts. It’s a great place for complete dental care."
